Adventure in Pico Bonito National Park

The empty house where we spent a long, cold (by our standards)night on the wooden floor with only the company of a few bats. It is owned by the local university but they stopped using it.

Every afternoon the clouds roll in and the sun dissappears in the mountians.

The river just next to where we stayed. The water was actually cold for once.

The awsome blue butterfly that took me forever to catch.

17 September 2009

We missioned it into the jungle for the night with only a few instructions from Robert, from the butterfly museum. We managed to get on the wrong bus to start with but eventually made it to Roberts friends house. With the language barrier we didn't understand much of what he said but he showed us the track to the house and sent us on our way. Without anything to cook with we had to live off honey sandwiches and chips but the jungle was alive with butterflys, cicadas, and birds and even though the sun was gone early I managed to get heaps of cool butterflys.
