Mini Europe and the Atomium

19 September 2011

It was quite fun visiting mini Europe since we are 2/3s of the way through our trip and have seen most of the famous sights, buildings and Museums which Europe has to offer.
The Atomium was also really different. We visited it the other night to find that you could actually walk inside it so we had to come back to visit.

This strange structure is a giant iron atom

The Atomium was built for the world trade fair in 1958

We got a high speed lift to the top ball where they had a restaurant. This is looking down to the ground

There was a maze of lifts and stairs between the different balls and there was something different in each one: conference rooms, exhibitions, a place where school groups sleep over night.

We stopped for a waffle in the snack bar ball

One of the trippy escalators between balls.

We tried some Macaroons after wandering past hundreds of shops selling them the last week.
