Tough day as tourists

17 June 2011

We had a pretty average day today as we headed through Switzerland and into Italy.

We manageed to hitchhike to Gotthard from Solothurn before catching the train through the Swiss alps and into Italy. First our GPS fell out in someones car in Luzern, after doing a police report and hitching to Altdorf a storm hit us so we decided to catch a train, we didnt manage to get off the train at our first stop in Como/Italy and ended up going all the way to Milano arriving at 10.30pm. No one spoke english and or understood our Italien but somehow we got into the city centre with the metro. Then all the hotels were booked out because of concert, and the atm temporarily ate our credit card, then some homeless people followed us around, so we ended up walking around for hours until 2.30am before finding a bit of grass in the centre centre to camp.

Our impressions of Milano were pretty average and we just wanted to get the hell out of there so first thing in the morning we trained to Verona.

We are so happy to be in Verona an amazing beautiful city. It was a pretty funny day yesterday looking back at it now but it wasnt at the time.

We make it Fluelen train station as a massive storm hits us.

So glad to be on a train going through the Swiss alps

Hundreds of tunnels, rivers, roads and mountains as we head through the scenic alps.

The Duomi cathedral in the heart of Milano - the 4th largest in the world which took nearly 6 centuries to build

We LUCILY find a patch of grass in central Milan to camp out for a few hours as all the hotels were booked out
