Verona, Italy - Romeo and Juliet

18 June 2011

What an amazing city. We spent a full on day checking out all the sights. The entire modern city seems to have been build over the old city with another church or ruin around every corner. We are at a camp ground that is in an old part of a castle with ruins everywhere. We are sleeping at the top of one of the walls.

Views of Verona from Castel San Petro

Duomo church a wicked massive church where Karen had to cover up in this sexy coat

The original mosaic floor of the Duomo church from 300AD

St Anastasia church another huge different church

There are 3 different layers of paintings here. They seem to have kept adding layers over the years

Juliets Balcony - built in 1936 : )

Mark, Mark where for out thou Mark

The love walls where everyone seems to write love messages on the entrance to juliets house

Yum....a gelato everyday

Torre dei Lamberti - the clock tower in the city centre. You could take the elevator or the 368 stairs.

The Arena - most famous arena for opera in the world
