Day 3 (Dec4) Near Athol to Queenstown 97.7km =286km total

Woke up to heavy rain and wind this morning and jumped on our bikes to be hailed on.

Andriy had some problems with his bike today with the first flat tyre (he was stoked) and his brakes keep jamming and his gear were j on so riding twice as hard as me.

The other team of cyclists who did our mission the other way round (downhill from Cape to Bluff) stopped and filled our bags with powerbars and gels to keep us going. Thanks to them!

It was anamazing ride around lake Waitapu today. Awesome views of the mountains and of the spring with millions of sheep (we must have seen 300,000 sheep today) and spring foxglove and wildflowers everywhere.
