We arrived in England excited that we would finally be able to speak English, only to struggle to understand much of what they were saying. We decided to head to a pub for a beer and a group of local liverpool guys wanted to talk, at first I thought they must have been speaking another language because I couldn't understand anything. In Liverpool we checked out the Beatles Museum and learnt all about the lives of the Beatles. We discovered that Ringo Star narrated some of the first episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine, before the Beatles they were the Quarrymen (with some different people) and their last live performance was on a rooftop in London. We had Pasties at Albert Dock and saw 2 more cathedrals in Liverpool before popping over to Manchester to meet up with our friend Claire for lunch and do a bit of shopping.

Re-make of the Cavern where the Beatles used to play before they got too famous.

Liverpool Cathedral - the largest cathedral in the UK. Completed in 1978 so very young and very different to what we have seen so far
Heaviest and highest bells in the world
View of the city from the top of the cathedral at 101m
This is Alberts dock which is also a world heritage area
