Another nice view over the ocean. It was so hot noboby was wearing more than a bikini or shorts.

The "beach" at Manorola- perfect place for swimming though.

At a wine bar in Monteresso where we tried Lemoncino -a shot of lemon liquor, a sweet wine called Sciacchetra and a white wine called Buranco. This is apparently made with 10kg of grapes per bottle, only 1000 or so bottles were made of this wine. These are all made in the Cinque Terre region.

27 June 2011

After a quick train ride we started our day at Monterosso and walked along the coastal route to Vernazza where it was already time for a swim after soaking our clothes with sweat. The water was really clear and we were dissapointed we didn't have snorkling gear. From here the next 2 sections of the coastal track were closed so we took the train to Corniglia and walked the inland route to Manarola where, again, it was time for a swim. From Riomaggiore we treated ourselves to a (surprisingly affordable) boat ride back to Monterosso. It was great seeing the villages from a different perspective. In Monterosso we tried the local lemoncino (a shot of very alcoholic lemon juice) and a couple of the local wines at a wine bar followed by raviolli for dinner.
