We saw Germanies highest waterfall, found about about the cuckoo clocks history at the German Clocks Museum, saw some more cuckoo clocks, discovered some more villages in the black forest, and visited the big city of Freiburg before setting up camp in Titisee.
It is definitley mid Autumn where we are waking up to frosts. These are some icicles on the car
There was a nice walk through the forest to Germanys highest waterfall in Triberg at 163m
It was a laddered waterfall so not that spectacular. This is from the top
More cuckoo clocks. We are expects now knowing all about the battery powered clocks, mechanical clocks, 1/8 day clocks, 2 and 3 weighted clocks, handcrafted vs laser cut clocks, moving parts and modern and traditional cuckoo clocks.
After looking through shop after shop we decided we couldn't leave this great place without a cool cuckoo clock. So after visiting Schoenach 4km west of Triberg where most of the cuckoo clocks are made we finally decided on this clock.
This is the guy who build our clock in Hornberg
Back on the 'German Cuckoo Clock Route' where we visited the German Clocks Museum in Furtwangen. This is the 'Simpsons' clock where Homer comes out and says woohoo.
There was a walk through the history of the black forest clocks. From these old wooden clocks
To picture frame clocks
To cuckoos coming out of churches and then of course to the clocks today with the many moving parts and songs
We drove through many nice villages. This is looking back from Simonswald up to the scenic mountain roads though the forest where we had just come from.
We had a quick stop in the big city of Freiburg. There were crowds of people everywhere. On the right you can see the water canals on the road
This is the Freiburg church
Buskers on the street
This busker would play certain notes and certain animals would dance and play their instruments
This is the large city gate complete with a Mcdonalds. At least they tried to camoflague it.
