The weather wasnt great but we made the most of the day by doing a couple of walking tours of central Paris and Monmartre Hill.
This is the bridge where Liam Neeson jumps onto the boat from the movie 'Taken'.
Pont Neuf island (in the middle of the river) is where the famous Notre Dame church stands
The Lourve pyramids
Looking down Paris's main boulevard
Our first glimse of the Eiffel Tower
Place de la Concorde - where over 1000 people were guillotined.
This is where Van Gogh lived.
The Romans used to bring the Christens up to the top of this hill and cut off their heads with a guillotine. This man St Denis apparently had his head cut off here where he then picked it up and walked 6000 paces before he collapsed (St Denis church nows stands where he collapsed).
At this restaurant Picasso when he was 18 used to bribe the waitdresses with drawings on napkins instead of paying for his meals. One day the boss found out and said he it had to stop because he was losing money. Picasso then told him that he would would be the most famous artist in the world and would he except some canvas paintings which the waiter agreed to and later became very rich.
Basilica of Sacre-Coeur - another amazing cathedral incorporating many different styles both inside and out. It was built with self cleaning stone which cleans itself when it rains. The bits that dont get any rain turn a black colour.
Paris city from the cathedral at sunset at the top of Monmartre hill
Sacre-Coeur all lit up at night
Karen standing over the air tunnel with the famous moulin rouge in the background in Paris's red light district.
