4Wdriving through the Eua National forest tracks that almost didnt exist
White tailed tropic bird cruising over the forest
Looking East over Eua National park
We crawled through a small limestone cave which opened up to a view of the National Park
Karen near the bubbling caves. A waterfall which falls 100m into massive underground caves which looks like it is smoking
Massive 800 year old tree - only a tiny bit of it would fit into the picture
The only snorkelling we could do on the island was in this small 3 metre pool within the coral reef full of heaps of different fish and this type of sea snake looking thing.
At the rock gardens (furtherest southern point) we spotted a group of humpbacks migrating 30 metres of shore
My favourite spot on the island
Me and some humpbacks
The humpbacks head out to sea
The rock gardens. Where's Karen?
Haha
The big arch which was huge with a road going over it.
These cool trees were everywhere
More forest
These massive spiders where on every power post.
The islands police station was almost none existant
Just some more coconuts
Another nice sunset at the beach
19 August 2010
We only had a day to see this large island so we did a 4wd tour to make sure we got to all the neat spots. It was a wet rainy day and we went on some real hardcore 4wd tracks that turned into mud pits in some places. We had a wicked time exploring some really remote spots from the beaches, villages, forests, to the snorkelling spots and shear cliffs.
