We rocked up to Tekapo late last night well behind schedule. The awesome people at Lake Tekapo Scenic Resort put us up for the night. Thanks heaps, after all that rain, wind, and cold we were so stoked to have a warm shower and bed for the night.

I decided I needed a shower so stopped under one of the big farm irrigators
Day 8 (Dec 9) Lake Tekapo to Ashburton 142.1km =760km total
Today was a cycling day. It was a big effort and we did 142km all the way out to Ashburton. We went over the Burkes Pass which was almost non exsistent and had some awesome downhill stretches leading into Fairlie. Heading into Geraldine we went through some tough rolling hill country and then from then on it was flat all the way into Ashburton.
We were stoked with our cycling efforts today
