There were hundreds and hundreds of mountain lupins everywhere
Wash me!
Honk if your horny!
The top of the lindis pass, what a mission
There were hundreds of these stone towers for miles alond the road
We set up camp in an amazing spot by the river
Day 6 (Dec7) Tarras to Omarara 87.4km =498km total
Today was meant to be one of the toughest days of the trip crossing the Lindis Pass (part of the southern alps). Today was an undie day.
Not only did we have some steep hills but a strong 65km/ph headwind so it was rough going. We stuck it out and were rewarded by some awesome view of the high country tussock land and a 10km downhill stretch.
On the other side of the pass we travelled along side the Ahuriri River one of the most beautiful scenes I have seen in the country. You will see what I mean by the pictures.
