Icing my injury kiwi style
8 July 2007
Yesterday, at our last training session before the race, I went down the first drop and felt some extreme pains at the bottom of my right rib which continued to sting every time I did an upstream making it impossible to apply much pressure on my blade. I took the precautions and applied ice and took some anti flammes hoping I would be fine for the world cup today.
It was evident that I wasnt fine, when I struggled on the moving water warm up gates with a clicking of my lower ribs. I was thinking about not racing but then decided I would take it easy and just get down. I got down on both runs but with some slow times not getting through to semis. I will see a physio about it today and get myself sorted out.
Mike had a smoker in the K1Men finishing 12th. Aaron and Johann also made semis and James was lucky to scrap through in 40th place.
