Today the World Champs racing kicked off with the K1 men and C2 qualifications. I think the all three kiwi boys were nervous as anything, where they made some mistakes in their first runs which they wouldn’t normally do. They got it together in their second runs with nothing to loose and pulled out some very quick competitive times ending up in the following places Mike 50th, Johann 52, and Jared 72.

It is the top 40 that go through to the finals on Saturday, so the boys were a little disappointed they didnt made the cut when they were so close (only 4 seconds off 40th place). They have teams tomorrow so will hopefully hold onto their top 10 placing that they got in Australia last year.
