I had a good race today and ended up in 30th after finals. I was happy as I raced well and achieved the top 30 placing that I wanted. I smoked down the middle part of the course extremely fast, especially through gate 9 where I got a perfect boof over the big stopper, I then however lost a few seconds down the bottom of the course where I got a touch and went low into an up. This evened out into a fast solid run.
My 30th place in this race bettered my WORLD RANKING OF 29th which im really happy about. Its going to be a big party tonight as I celebrate this race and my bday as well.
My races went out live to Eurosport and Czech television but im not sure if any footage will be on NZ television yet. Will let you know.
Thanks to Jeremy Meehan (Jareds dad) and Les and Kay Dawsom (Mike and James mum and dad) for all the videoing and support throughout the last 2 weeks. It has been great to have them around. A big thanks to Hodney (Thomas Karas) an ex slalom paddler who used to paddle for New Zealand. He gave me some really important coaching during the event and helped me analysis all my race runs this afternoon to figger out all the things I need to improve on in the next few months.
