My new C1 Makao that I brought home with me.

After the long, tiring flight I finally arrived in Auckland yesterday afternoon. It didn’t take long for the nice sunny day to turn into rain clouds and wind to show the true NZ winter. It’s a bit strange to be wearing two layers of clothes again after living in basically just boardies for three months : )

I will spend a couple of days in Auckland and leave for Palmerston North on Sunday to start university again first thing Monday morning. Its going to be 4 weeks of catchup.

I also brought a new Galasport, Makao C1 canoe home with me (see pictures). I tried it out and really liked the way it tracked and moved on the water so I got one.

I will have a break from paddling for at least a month now before getting back into training.
