It has been soccer fever all through this city in the last week with big screens set up everywhere. We watched the semi final game, Germany vs Italy in the town square, the huge crowds of German and Italian tourists (4000 people) made an exciting atmosphere as they tried to out compete each others chants.
The France vs Portugal was just as exciting where the crowds waited in suspense as Portugal almost evened the score in the last 10 seconds of the match.
We decided to have one last night out before Worlds. He started with a few beckarovka shots which is a cinnamon liquor that all the Czechs seem to drink. We had dinner in town and then headed to the famous 4 stories disco. This is an awesome club which has a different kind of music on each story. We had a great night out showing the locals our dance moves and meeting some amazingly hot Slovakian girls (see the pictures).
In the last few days we also caught up with hodney, a very good C1 slalom paddler who used to paddle for New Zealand. He coached us yesterday pointing out some areas were we can gain some valuable time.
This morning Mike drove Sarah to Munich airport where she will fly back to NZ/and Jarad left for Switzerland where he will compete in some whitewater extreme races which will be good break for him. James and I decided to stay here in Prague training with the other international teams where we will be until Sunday before heading to our race in Bratislava. We watched the movie hostel a fews back so have our doubts on the place : )
