After a nice sleep in we set off for Westminster Abbey just as the rain started, and it continued on and off all day after that. Unfortunately by the time we arrived at the abbey the line was long and it was still raining. So we had a look around the outside of the Abbey and Parliment buildings and walked down the Thames river past the London eye. In the afternoon we took a walking tour of the Westminster area before going back to the Abbey for evensong.
We then braved the pouring rain and headed to the (open air) Globe theater to see As You Like It - a Shakespeare comedy. We struggled to understand all of the first half, but found the second half very funny. Luckily we did manage to stay mostly dry throughout the play. Afterwards we headed to the Swan restaurant for dessert where Mark mentioned it was my birthday (see photo!)
Houses of parliment. These buildings were amazing.
The flag was up so the Queen was out at Buckingham palace. Our guide told us stories about an Irishman who was obsessed with the Queen who got past the guards and broke into her bedroom. And another story about some Germans who climbed the fence and camped in her gardens.

Trafalgar Square
We searched the city for all the monopoly streets
The royal mile
This is the spot for the Olympic volleyball. The only person allowed to ride a horse through the gate behind is the Queen. Next to this is Downer Street where the Primeminister lives
The lake with pelicans at one fo the Queens Parks. We also saw squirrels running around
Westminister Abbey where all the Queens and Kings have been crowned since Charles the 2nd.
Its mainly a gothic church

The ques were way too long so we came back for evensong which was a different experience for us with the entire abbey full with the church choir singing
Birthday dinner at the pub
Typical day in London. Torrential rain followed by sun showers in front of the Big Ben. We found out on our tour that Big Ben is the nickname after the bossy fat man who was in charge of building the clock tower and the name just stuck.
The London eye
The weirdest busker I have ever seen. This cat guy sang a song and wanted Karen to shake its paw

The two main characters in the play 'As you like it' that we watched at the Shakespeare Globe
The Shakespeares globe. An open air theatre where Shakespeare first performed his shows.
