The B&B host new it was my bday so I woke up to the biggest cooked breakfast ever. After our bellies were full we headed to the famous grouse distillery for a couple of drags to keep out of the rain. We stopped at the William Wallace monument in Stirling before meeting back up with Robin and Gary for a pub crawl around edinburgh. After a few pints I had my first deep fried mars bar and a big birthday
Our scottish B&B in Bankfoot saved us from camping in the rain. I feel like we have had our dose of NZ winter here.
We visited the Famous Grouse distillery. These are the main whiskies that make it up.
The 3 grouse whiskies. The snow grouse, famous grouse and black grouse.
Getting into some testing. The snow grouse was actually really good whisky.
We stopped back through Stirling to see the William Wallace monument. Completed in 1869 and funded by fundraising campaigns to commemorate Sir William Wallace a 13th century scottish hero. Everyone must have seen braveheart?
We reach the top of the monument at 67metres after 246 steps with a wicked view of the Stirling
Built on the summit of abbey craig.
William Wallaces sword used in many of his battles.
Chowing into some REAL cornish pasties.
After a few pints at the pub we washed down this fantastic chocolate cake that Robin made.
