We made the most of another day trip through the Wicklow country stopping back in Glendalough, and Kilkenny. We saw where some of the scenes of Braveheart and P.S. I love you were filmed before stopping in Kilkenny to have a pint of Kilkenny and see the sights.
Glendalough was like a ghost town today after stopping through here on Sunday where it was bustling with tourists. We had a closer look at the monastery where we found this grave from 1790.
Paddywagon tour bus
Brownshill portal tomb with its capstone weighing 150 tonnes.
Having a picnic at Kilkenny castle. Note we are using our 1pound sitting matt whihc Karen is very prod of which we have been using since we arrived in the UK
St Mary's cathedral. We were told that this used to be a catholic church until the protestants came and changed it to a protestant church.
Kilkenny is brewed along with Smithwicks ale at the Smithwicks brewery. We didnt have time for a tour but got a good look form the outside. This is the oldest brewery in Ireland established in 1710 which was even older than Guinness in 1759.
Kilkenny on tap
Having a pint of Kilkenny in Kilkenny - somthing to tick off my list. how many people can say that : )
