We did all the sights of Dublin today. Our first stop in Dublin today was the Guinness storehouse. It was more like a museum which had some great info about brewing guinness and a complete history.
We did a guided city tour where we checked out all the sights and got a complete history of Dublin and Ireland which was actually really interesting.
The 9000 year lease was signed by Arthur Guinness in 1759 for 45pound a month which they continue to pay to this day.
Guiness does not transport well so they used to use ferries to transport the kegs through the canals
All the different labels that guinness has had over the years
The big fermenting tanks. Here at St James's gate brewery they produce 3 million pints of guinness a day
We walked in not being guinness fans but walked out shocked at how amazing it was. The guinness here is incredible - it tasted like fresh cream on the top of my pint.
Pint of Guinness with the best Shamrock on the top I have ever seen
The storehouse is one giant guinness glass where you start at the bottom and end up at the top for a pint
The storehouse is massive
City Hall
Some sand castles at the castle
Dublin castle
This is where Jonathan Swift who wrote gulliver's travels lived
Trinity college - they house here in the old library the 'Book of kells' which is a gospel book over a 1000 years old.
This was a statue about the potato famine in Ireland
A big walrus at the natural history museum. We also were able to see some puffins and a basking shark which we didnt end up seeing in Scotland
This bridge looks like a harp which is Irelands symbol. It is also the symbol for guinness beer and when the Irish government copyrighted it, guinness switched it around 180 so they could keep it
