Loads of rain in Fiordland


The Milford Road was closed twice due to flooding, landslips and fallen trees.


Lake Gunn campsite managed rise a metre not leaving much space for punters.


Deer Flat was on the edge of bursting its banks as all eglinton became swollen most of the week


Big landslides wiped out parts of the Lake Marian track.


The path was covered by mud and fallen trees


Part of the paths turned into streams


Big trees had to be chainsawed and bulldozed to open up the road again


Several trees fall over the road.

Fiordland has been battered by severe rain and wind all week long. A once a summer occurance has left us DOC staff off our feet. 254mm of rain fall tuesday leaving parts of the milford track under 2m of water.
