After our rest day we were all pumped to get back on our bikes. It was a very cruisy day downhill. We made such good time we were well on our way to Hyde by lunch. We stayed the night out at Macraes Flat at this old Hotel, it was run down from the outside but really cool on the inside. We spent the night playing cards and downing some pints by the fire.

We went to the Ranfurly Hotel in search of some Ranfurly beer but its so bad they dont even sell it here in the main building in Ranfurly
We stopped for a beer and hot chocolate at the Waipiata hotel

Prices Creek Railway Viaduct
Taieri river old miners diversion tunnel - you can see the oulet of the tunnel
We walked down to the inlet of the tunnel and spent ages dislogding these tree trunks. It was quite excitig when they finally went downstream
Prices Creek tunnel
Anna and Amy both crashed in the last tunnel so I got some video just incase they did again with no luck. The tunnel was 152m long
After arriving at Hyde we all got a ride to Macraes flat to Stanley Hotel. We went via NZs largest open cast gold mine
Apparently they have mined this massive pit in only 4 years
