Good day for the Benus Family. Dana won the ladies and Matej was second in the C1 men(slovak team).

I finished in 16th place after a disappointing semis race.
I woke up to a another chilly day here in Brat. After some start delays I paddled really welI down the first 3/4 of the course in my semis run. However at gate 17, which was a flush gate on a big hole, I had too much edge on my boat and fell back onto the right pole where only part of my head went through. I paddled back to negotiate the gate again but I the 50 was not taken off, so I finished up with a slow time.
The competition in the K1M was very tight. Mike had a small recuirc loosing a good 5 sec, finishing in 18th.
It would have been great if both of us had made the finals but didnt work out that way. Our slovak mates did well, Dana winning ladies and Matej 2nd in C1M and Stephano 2nd in K1M.
