Training in Rotorua

The entire country has been flooding from the storms that swept over New Zealand last week. I headed up to Rotorua to stay with johann and peta for some solid training on the Kaituna for 6 days. The river was at 1300's, open gates, so a pretty big flow. Had some good sessions to get me ready for the pushy water of Bratislava. Only 2 weeks until I go to Europe for my 5 week tour.

Also, apparently Shannon has been flooded the last few days and the water has just subsided, so I will head to the course to check out the damage on Saturday.

Olympics starts on friday with the opening ceremony. Luuka will be paddling in the K1 woman slalom on the 15th, check out the olympic kayak website:
