It was not the outcome I was looking for but then BAD RACING = BAD RESULT
I was feeling great physically but the technical areas at main wave and before fryer dealt to me as I did not have the confidence to really charge those parts of the course. I took some risks on these crunch moves and it did not go my way. I topped if off by touching the last three gates on my second run aswell. James also had some problems and only beat me by a mere 1.7sec, which was my touch on the last gate.
It came down to .8 of a second between Luuka and Tania and Mike was 4 sec down on the Aussie K1men. The C2’s had some unfortunate 50’s on day one pushing them out.
Now, James and Luuka have a chance to go to the games if they make selection criteria at one of the World Cups in June. So good luck to them for those races.
It was a hard few days last week. I ended up enrolling and starting uni internally in Palmy and decided to miss nationals this weekend so that I could attend my cousins wedding in Wanganui.
After a lot of thought I have decided to finish my university studies this year, miss the world cups in June and go to World University Games in Slovakia in September instead. Everyone keeps saying that when one door closes another opens, so im looking forward to that.
