All us World Champs athletes did a tour of the Itaipu power station. This is the biggest power station in the world. With 20 turbines, each of which creates enough power for 2 million people WOW!!!(Two of them would produce enough power for the entire country). The size of the dam, turbines and spillway were amazing.
Tania and I also checked out the Biological Refuge run by the power station. When the dam was build forest was drowned by the lake above. The refuge looks after the animals that lived in that forest as well as being responsible for planting new trees around the lake to make sure the water stay clean. It was really interesting for me being a zoology/ecology student. The best bit was the Jaguar.
