1st place both days at the Coromandel Classic

25 August 2013

After a few weeks back in the boat training it was time again for the Coromandel Classic. We decided to do a three man team this year and absolutely obiterated the competition on both days with our cyclist smoking up the hills on the bike and our running nailing the mountain crossings.
It was great to come 1st however a little boring for our support crew with us way out front.

Triff cooling off after a epic run over the coromandel ranges

Support crew waiting on for me in come in, in the kayak.

Last legs of the kayak on the first day

Our cyclist about to overtake to lead the racing for Day 1.

Walk up Paaku hill to check out the lines up Tairua harbour for the second paddle

Looking out from Paaku hill to Shoe island (closest) and the Audermans (behind)

Ice pack recovery

Tricky moving mass start in the kayak due to tail wind and waves.

Well out in front on the last bike into Thames
