Stirling and Trossachs National Park

29 July 2011

After picking up our wheels and stocking up at the supermarket we started on our road trip of Scotland. We did a big tour of stirling castle before heading out to the lochs and camping up alongside Loch Lomond. Stirling Castle is centred in the middle of the narrow piece of land between the lowlands and the highlands, it continuosly changed hands between the English and the Scots

We couldnt pass Stirling without visiting Stirling castle which has played a massive part in scottish history.

A row of cannons facing the bridge over the forth river was very important in the defense of the castle

The king and queens seats in the main hall. We checked out all their rooms, halls, and chapel.

This is where the famous battle or Bannochburn took place where the Scottish claimed victory over the english.

Stirling castle from the kings old gardens and hunting grounds

After exploring Loch Lomond we pull up and camp alongside a nice area of the lake. In Scotland they have a law where wild camping is a right for everyone.
