We checked out all the sights of Augsburg some of which of havent even seen before.
This is the big dam across the Lech river
Rhinos in the city centre.
The Augsbrug Dom, over 1000 years old
The Augsburg Rathaus und Golden Saal (Town hall with the golden hall)
The impressive Rathaus from the main square on the right and also the Perlach turm on the left which had hundreds of steps and a great view of the city. We stayed there for the midday bells and almost become deaf with 10 huge bells ringing all at once.
St Ulrich Church
Shopping in the markets for some white apparagas (Weisse Spargel) for dinner
One of the many canals through the city
You know your in Germany when there are cigarette vending machines on the street corners.
The 'fuggerei', the worlds oldest social housing complex. Housing the needy residents of Augsburg since 1512.
The Jakob gate that was partially destroyed in the war
The Jakob gate today
The old town wall fort still remains in some parts around the city.
We were quite lucky to be in Augsburg a couple of days before the World Wild Water Champs. All the nations were getting in some last training runs before the competition.
